DharmaDots - Namaste!

So instead of making a big to-do about a Submit form for new blogs to add to the DharmaDots roster, why not just have a running open comment stream of links that are left? That way, even if it doesn’t get added to the main lists, it’s still here for all to discover. (Thanks to Emily Breder of PeaceGroundZero for the Submission idea!)

We look for quality, frequency, follow-ship, and friendliness in the blogs and sites reviewed, and third party suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks!

My site, The Dalai Grandma, explores life in old age from a Zen point of view, with plenty of emphasis on The Five Remembrances and, sometimes, a sense of humor.

  5. “The necessary and welcome economic growth within our Sangha, in the form of business operations and commercial and domestic investments, has brought along as a by—product an increasing frequency of disagreements and disputes. There is a need for our society to provide resources for the sane, nonagressive resolution of such conflicts in keeping with the principles of Dharma and the Great Eastern Sun. Accordingly I have decided to institute and appoint the Upaya Council. The function of the Upaya Council shall be to mediate and/or arbitrate commercial and domestic disputes among members of the Vajradhatu community, as individuals, groups, or businesses. It shall be the initial task of the Upaya Council to propose to me and my Privy Council a set of guidelines under which it shall operate. There shall be no internal hierarchy within the Upaya Council and each member shall have an equal voice; the findings of the Council shall be arrived at by unanimous consent.”

~ Vajracarya the Venerable Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, Spring, 1979.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t a buddhist site, but it is run by compassionate people, many of them practicing Buddhists, doing great work for people in Burma. It’s called Community Partners International and you can read about health and education projects in Burma:

I blog about my Buddhist practice everyday. I’m doing this using the teachings from Zencast and will continue for the whole year. Hopefully my practice and writings will help other practitioners along the way.
    Namaste :)

Thanks very much listing my site (“Snow Branches”). A minor point, but you have called it David Mashton. My name is David Ashton (or you could call it Snow Branches). Thanks for your terrific site and hard work!
